About the Event
The Maroa Public Library District invites readers of all ages to join our 2026 Summer Reading Program, Plant a Seed, Read. This year’s program encourages our community to grow a love of reading while enjoying a variety of fun, educational, and creative activities.
Register the week of May 26–30, with the program taking place June 2 -July 10. Participants will track their reading and visit the library for weekly check-ins, where they’ll earn coupons and prizes just for reading. The more you read, the more you grow—leading up to exciting grand prizes at the end of the summer!
In addition to reading rewards, the library will host a full schedule of engaging programs for all ages, including:
Hands-on youth activities like Bug Motel building, Farm Equipment exploration, and Native American Tribes learning
Educational presentations from Macon County Conservation District, such as “Ready, Set, Grow!”, “Illinois Grow,” and Native American Lifeways
