About the Event
Organized in 1964 the Decatur and Macon County Genealogical Society is a non-profit, non-sectarian, educational society with the following purpose: To encourage the science of genealogy, to help others gather genealogical information, to preserve the published material of historical and genealogical nature, all for educational purpose. The library collection, valued at over $250,000.00 is one of the largest genealogical libraries in downstate Illinois.
The Fall Chautauqua Series will focus on local history, genealogy, and how to preserve your family memories. The winter sessions will feature planes, trains, and automobiles!
